What kind of maintenance does an outboard need?
  • If possible, keep your boat stored out of the water. Keeping it dry will reduce any potential damage that can be caused by barnacles and other marine elements.
  • Change the oil often, and use the recommended oil for your model.
  • Check your oil after each outing. This will help verify that the oil seal is still good and help you spot any potential issues.
  • Every six months, change the oil, gaskets, anodes, and other such parts.
  • Replace your clamps and bellows every twelve months.
