Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Turn Signals

When you need to change directions in your Chevrolet Avalanche 1500, you depend on your turn signals to warn other drivers. Using and maintaining the turn signals in your Chevrolet will allow you to be safe and considerate on the roads. Making sure your Chevrolet Avalanche turn signals are working properly is important to your safety while driving.

What types of turn signals are there for an Avalanche?

Owing to your Chevrolet Avalanches unique exterior styling, there are a variety of turn signal assemblies that allow you to customize the look of your vehicle in order to reflect your personality. As you consider what type of turn signal to select, remember to choose the correct turn signal for the side of the vehicle youre servicing. In other words, if youre servicing the passenger-side turn signal, make sure you select a turn signal designed for the passenger side; a signal designed for the drivers side of the truck will not fit.

  • Original: These serve as a direct replacement for the turn signals that originally came on your Chevy Avalanche. They provide a bright, distinct light to allow other motorists to spot you from a distance. You can find these replacements as either an original equipment manufacturer or aftermarket model.
  • Blacked-out: Adds a mysterious and tough look to your Avalanche by adding a dark coating to the turn signal lens. Though the signal is still fully visible when illuminated, the bulb is hidden at other times, adding to the unique look.
  • LED: Replace your Avalanches turn signal assembly with an LED assembly to enjoy brighter and longer-lasting light. Depending on your wiring setup, the LED bulbs may require special adapters to function correctly, so check into this as youre making your selection and installing the new fixtures.
How do you replace a Chevrolet Avalanches turn signal assembly?

Whether you need to replace a damaged or broken turn signal assembly on your Avalanche, or youre simply changing the assembly out for a new custom model, the process to complete this task is quick and easy. In order to replace your turn signal assembly, youll be replacing the entire headlight assembly because the turn signal assembly is included.

  1. Pop your hood and put the safety rod in place to hold it open.
  2. Remove the pins holding the headlight assembly in place by sliding them up and out of the slots where they rest.
  3. Pull the headlight assembly straight out and disconnect the electrical harnesses connected to the light sockets.
  4. Slide the new headlight assembly into the headlight assembly opening, reconnecting the electrical harnesses before you slide it all the way in.
  5. Slide the headlight assembly the rest of the way in and re-insert the pins that hold the assembly in place. Test for proper operation, then lower your hood.
