What is the inspiration behind the design of the Nike Air Max Plus?

Designer Sean McDowell drew inspiration for the Nike Air Max Plus from a sunset he witnessed, where the sky transitioned from bright blue to dark blue, coupled with palm trees swaying in the wind. The wavy TPU overlays that mimic the silhouette of palm trees on the shoe are a nod to this inspiration. Additionally, the shoe incorporates a modified whale tail design in its shank. As part of the Flight Pack, this Nike Air Max Plus Parachute sneaker celebrates aerial activities, such as skydiving, parachuting, and hot air ballooning.

What unique design elements can be found in the Nike Air Max Plus Parachute 2020?

The Air Max Plus Parachute showcases a striking black mesh upper complemented by gradient blue and red TPU overlays, reminiscent of the hues of a twilight sky. Nike branding intertwines with a parachute graphic on the tongue tag and sockliner. Additionally, text reading Catching Air MFG, Jump Dept. SP.20 Flight Pack is partially covered on the shoe's lateral side, and a multi-colored parachute graphic, affiliated with a Swoosh, decorates both the tongue and insole.

How does the cushioning system in the Air Max Plus work?

The original Air Max Plus introduced a new Max Air innovation, which utilized two opposing hemispheres to advance the brand's iconic cushioning technology, and you’ll find that cushioning in the Parachute edition. Initially termed Sky Air, this innovation aimed to enhance both comfort and performance. The shoe features visible Max Air units located at the forefoot and heel for added cushioning and stability.
