Roku replacement
Replaced a Roku Premier+. Loved the Roku interface, and generally loved the product. Unfortunately, if you have a sophisticated/complex Home Theater setup (or really any kind of sink device that is both capable and automatically senses/optimizes to the best of the vast array of source device video formats--i.e. HDR, DV, 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0, combinations thereof, etc.), the Roku's HDMI handshake issues are just intolerable--which is unfortunate. It's not totally their fault--Netflix and other streaming apps are as much to blame for their incredibly unnecessary and annoying video "auto start"/preview "feature"/PIA that can't be disabled (which is even more inexcusable--they probably realize EVERYONE would disable it so they force it on you and don't even realize the issues it creates for certain technology setups) creating the need for an HDMI handshake with the sink device. But the bottom line, it became unusable. The Shield suffers from no such problems. But the tradeoff is you have to manually optimize the sink and source device since the Shield requires you set the video format manually. On the good side, it does provide something like 60 different video formats. So odds are it will work with just about any sink device. And since I despise all things Apple, this was the best alternative heavy duty consumer friendly streamer, imho.

Best media stream player plus online game
I bought it mainly for the media streaming function. This is my 9th media player and the fifth that is Android based (including FireTV Stick and FireTV2). The performance is much better than all other media players I have used although it is also the most expensive one and double the cost of the next one. So far I have not had any problem in side loading Android apps which was my original concern with Android TV OS. I added an external SSD pulled from an old laptop as device storage and I added a keyboard touchpad remote to it to supplement the limitation of this unit. I have to say not all USB 3.0 hub or external drive case are compatible with Shield TV. Fortunately I have multiple ones at home that I can try. I am very happy with it right now and hesitate to update to Oreo OS. One minor problem I found is the slow charging of the game controller. The gaming experience is good, particularly with the free GeForce Now subscription and plenty of free games.

Performs well, until.......
This is second one I've purchased. First one was new, second is used. Works much better than a firestick or an android box until it stops dead! The first one died after 2 1/2 years, with no resurrection no matter what I tried. Another new one was out of my price range. Took a chance on a used one and it works as good as the other one when it worked. Time will tell how this one will hold up. I have a firestick and an android box, but in my own opinion, neither compare to what the shield can do.

Great box
Bought it to run Kodi (best box I've ever owned for running it) but it does a whole lot more, exceeded my expectations. Really glad to have gotten this to use. Had heard it was one of the best ever to do what it does, and that's absolutely right. Easy to use interfaces, consistent and reliable, with a whole lot more features than I was expecting. Simple and quick to set up and get running. If you stream pretty much anything, you'll never regret getting this box.

Easy set up
This is pretty fast device and it's much faster than Roku and Amazon fire tv' overall I am happy with my purchase and picture quality is superb with HDR and the best part is that it has ability to sideload application to download which are not available on Google play store' only downside is 16gb internal memory is not enough for downloading application and Media' picture , music etc. I wish it could have more storage, but overall I am satisfied and impressed with the device.

The BEST Streaming device!
The Nvidia shield TV is still the best TV streaming device on the market today. I personally love the 2015 model because it has 2 usb 3.0 ports which allows you to view home videos through an external hard drive. The 2015 version also supports wired keyboards and mouses. It is a little on the bulky side compared to the new 2019 version, but it is still just as powerful as Nvidia's current model.

Forget the Nvidia branded one, this one's better!
I purchased this product sceptically, I wasn't sure of how it would perform or how it would even fit. Once I received the item and put it to its proper use it had me shocked, it was a lot better than I expected. As the title says forget the nvidia branded one, This one is better. Don't waste your time or money on anything else.

Everyone with an Nvidia shield should get one!
These are way better than the gaming remotes. It took me some time to figure out how to put the batteries in and pair the remote; once I figured it out, it was easy. I would have given it 4 stars or 4.5 but the directions it came with are Terrible!! They literly show 3 pics, depicting a remote being pointed at a tv.

Fastest media player streaming box I have used.
Compared to all the different media players I have owned or bought and setup for friends and family, the Nvidia Shield TV is the fastest, easiest to use and highest quality box with accessories. Even compared to the Nvidia Shield Tablet this is a much better product for the media room.

My Shield stand.
This is a good stand for my Shield TV Pro. It is made out of a slick plastic, fits very well, but hade to put some clear bumpers on the bottom to keep it from sliding around. Other than that it works well. Shipping was quick and the price wasn't bad.
