Kraus Home Sinks

There are a variety of design choices to make when selecting a kitchen sink from Kraus. All kitchen sinks can be differentiated by three different factors: material, mount type, and configuration. There are also multiple accessories that can be included with any sink.

What materials are Kraus kitchen sinks made from?

Consumers have a couple of options from which to choose when considering Kraus home sinks:

  • Stainless steel: These sinks are known for their sharp, neutral look that fits well with a wide range of designs. Stainless steel has great longevity and is usually easy to clean. Sinks featuring stainless steel are relatively flexible, which makes them resistant to cracking and breaking when heavy pots and pans are dropped on them.
  • Composite granite: Composite sinks are made from crushed granite and bound together with a resin. This leaves the sink with a smooth matte surface that is long-lasting and heat-resistant. These solid sinks often appear as if they are made of solid stone.
What mount types are available for Kraus kitchen sinks?

Kraus kitchen sinks come in a couple of mounting options:

  • Top-mounted: Also known as drop-in sinks, these sinks are simple to install. These sinks are designed to drop down into the cutout in the countertop, with the edges of the sink supported by the rim of the counter. They typically have precut holes for the faucet.
  • Undermount: Undermount-style sinks are attached underneath the countertop. These sinks are either attached to and hang from the counter above or are supported from below by the cabinet. An undermount-style sink can be slightly recessed from the counter as an accent. If the sink is the same material as the counter it can be seated flush, with its edges smoothed to give the impression that the sink and counter are one solid piece.
How can Kraus kitchen sinks be configured?

A sink’s configuration is a general description of the overall layout of the sink. First and foremost, a sink will have one or more bowls. This factor largely depends on the size of the space as smaller kitchens often necessitate single bowl sinks while larger kitchens will include the convenience of multiple bowls, if desired, and the space is available. These bowls can be of varying depth, allowing convenience for each task you might use them for. These configurations can also include many different finishes, including brushed nickel, stainless steel, or chrome handles and faucets.

What accessories are available?

Certain accessories add to the usefulness of these sinks, such as:

  • Soap dispenser: Built-in soap dispensers are a convenient option that can be installed with most sinks. They are a sleek alternative to disposable dispensers that create clutter.
  • Colanders: Sinks can also include stainless steel colanders that lay directly over the sink. These serve as convenient strainers and typically take up less space than standard colanders.
  • Bottom grids: Bottom grids are metal grates that fit comfortably in the sink. These grids are elevated off of the bottom of the sink with soft rubber bumpers. A bottom grid protects the surface of the sink from scratches and allows for better drainage.
