Jeep Wrangler Car and Truck Interior Mirrors

The Jeep Wrangler began production in 1986, and it has gone through several generations of design and styling updates. After many years of driving your Jeep, you may need to replace the interior mirror glass if the mirror becomes cracked, clouded, or scratched.

What are the features of interior mirrors for Jeep Wranglers?
  • Ability to adjust the angle of the view: The mounted arm of the frame allows you to adjust the angle of view to see around and behind your Jeep Wrangler.
  • Built-in lights for nighttime viewing of maps: Some generations of Jeep Wrangler have lights built into the black frame of the looking glass. This allows you to read maps at night.
  • Rugged mounting system for handling off-road driving and potholes: The rugged black frame and arm are made to withstand off-road driving, uneven surfaces, and potholes.
How do you choose interior mirrors for the Jeep Wrangler?
  • Choose the placement in the vehicle: Select a mirror that fits onto the front or back of your Jeep. Different model years and generations of the Jeeps have slightly different sizes, positioning, and mounting hardware for their interior mirrors.
  • Select replacement glass or an entire assembly kit: Choose a piece of replacement mirrored glass to put into the existing frame and mountable unit in your Jeep. If the entire interior reflective glass assembly needs to be replaced, there are kits that include the mountable hardware, arm, and fasteners.
  • Choose a manufacturer for the parts: Select Jeep as the original equipment manufacturer of the parts for your Wrangler. There are also mirror panes made by other manufacturers that are designed to fit within the same factory specifications. These parts are made by manufacturers including IC Beamer, Broadway, and Crown. You could also select unbranded units for your Jeep.
How do you replace Jeep Wrangler interior mirror glass?

When the reflective glass cracks or becomes clouded within the hardware frame, it is necessary to remove and replace it so that you can see through your Wranglers windshield, windows, or doors. To remove the damaged piece of reflective glass and install a new one, begin by removing the units frame from the mounting hardware with a Phillips head screwdriver. Use a hair dryer on a high setting to aim hot air around the seal of the glass. This softens the adhesive. Use a flat-head screwdriver to lift the seal up and pry the glass out. If the glass is cracked, place a piece of masking or duct tape over the cracks to prevent injuries when removing it. Insert the new unit of mirrored glass into the frame. Apply a bead of glass adhesive around the rim of the seal. Use pressure from your hand to form a seal. Allow the silicone adhesive to cure for 24 hours before reattaching the frame to the mounted arm.
