Cargo Nets, Trays, and Liners for Mazda CX-5

When you’re hauling objects that have an irregular shape or could cause a mess a net, tray, or liner can help keep your cargo area clean, organized, and dry. The Mazda CX-5 is designed to carry large loads of cargo in the cabin behind the rear seat, and a molded tray can protect the interior of your vehicle from spills, punctures, and abrasion. Installing a net, tray, or liner in your CX-5 takes about five minutes and requires no tools, experience, or special skills.

What is the difference between cargo nets, trays, and liners?

Each of these products has a different purpose.

  • Cargo nets are constructed from heavy-duty nylon fabric cords that can be stretched slightly to accommodate large objects with sharp corners.
  • Trays are molded pieces of rubber or vinyl designed to fit the shape of your trunk’s rear cargo space. They have raised lips around the perimeter to contain spills and protect your carpet from spills and stains.
  • Liners or mats are flat sheets of rubber or vinyl that cover most or all of the floor in your trunk; they protect your carpet from dirt, debris, grease, and grime.
How do you install a cargo net and tray?

These products are designed to be easy to install.

  1. Position the tray or mat where you want it to lie at the bottom of your rear cargo area.
  2. Arrange your cargo on the tray or mat so that the objects are evenly distributed on the floor.
  3. Secure the objects by attaching the four hooks of the net to the metal loops of your cargo space.
How do you clean a cargo tray or liner?

Trays and liners are constructed from waterproof rubber or vinyl material. They can be sprayed off with a hose. Some liners and mats contain rubber tread to help contain liquid spills. When removing a tray or mat, take care not to spill liquid or debris onto the carpeting of your Mazda. The tray or mat can be rolled slightly to make it easier to dump the dirt or liquid into a garbage can.

How do you choose the right cargo tray?

Mazda CX-5 models manufactured from 2012 to 2016 all have the same style of trunk while later models have different styles. Be sure to check the model year on your car to ensure you are purchasing a tray or mat designed to work with your vehicle.
