Ford Expedition fog driving lights are an essential component of your vehicles overall safety. They help improve visibility in fog and low light conditions and enable you to interact carefully with other motorists, the road, and the surrounding landscape.

There are some differences. Driving lights are usually placed higher on the front of your vehicle. They are typically white and very bright, and they tend to cast narrow, round beams. Fog lights are usually flat and wide in shape. They are placed low on your truck or car, and most vehicles have them in the front and the rear. Generally, front fog lights are white, but back fog lights are often red or some other color. They typically are not as bright as driving lights, but there are exceptions.

There are driving and fog lights corresponding to all common positions on your automobile, including rear, front, right, and left. The most common shapes are round and rectangular, but irregular shapes and placements are available as well.

For example, there are rectangular fog light bars that you attach to your roof. Some have attached round beams with angles you can adjust according to your driving needs or surroundings. Other light bars contain integrated lights, so the entire bar shines. There are also work light bars for off-road activities.

Color temperature varies from product to product. The average range is 5,000K to 6,000K. Recall that color temperature denotes the appearance and color of a light. The color occurs naturally, and it changes as the light emits heat and the temperature climbs to a particular measurement of Kelvin. Light with a color temperature at 4,500K or above is light that resembles daylight in all of its varying degrees of brightness.

There is no optimal color temperature, but daylight brightness seems to effectively illuminate the road without blinding pedestrians or oncoming motorists.

Fog lights and driving lights are available as "projector lights." They are circular in shape or array and emit brightness like a flashlight, spotlight, or projection equipment. Angel Eyes, Coronas, and Halos are other names for this type of lighting. Projection reduces the amount of light scatter, focusing more illumination on the road and less on the surroundings.

Beam angle indicates the degree of panoramic sweep from a given light. If your eyes are the headlights, then a 180-degree beam angle indicates light whose directionality covers a wide, deep hemisphere from side to side. Beam angles differ between lights, but they all create a flood of illumination over a wide area in front of you as you drive. Both projection and traditional types are highly effective; choosing between them simply comes down to personal preference.
