Nissan Frontier Condensers and Evaporators

When youre driving your Nissan Frontier truck in warm weather, it is essential to have a fully functioning air conditioner. Youll want everything to be as efficient as possible so that you can enjoy cool air in your standard, crew cab, or king cab pickup.

What does a condenser do?

The condenser in a Nissan Frontier pickup plays a critical role in pumping out cool air. It condenses vapor, which at this point is held at a high temperature and a high pressure, and turns it into a liquid that is then used to cool the cabin of the vehicle.

How do you know that you need a new condenser?

One sign would be that the air conditioner in your Nissan truck is no longer blowing cool air. While this could also mean a few other things for your Frontier, it often indicates that the condenser is damaged in some way. If the condenser has a leak somewhere, you can do a visual check by looking underneath the part. This would coincide with the Nissans A/C no longer being efficient.

What is the function of vehicle evaporators?

These parts play a crucial role in Nissan Frontier cooling systems. After the refrigerant is converted into a liquid, it enters this area. The warm air from the inside of the Frontier passes by this component. At this point, the fluid absorbs the heat from the warm air and humidity condenses on the surface. While some people may think that the A/C pushes in cool air into the cabin, it actually pulls out the hot air.

Like other parts of a Nissan, this part may get damaged or worn down over time. Sometimes, the seams can deteriorate and create a leak point. Corrosion can occur as well, causing damage to the structure of the part. Corrosion sometimes happens when leaves or other organic debris enter the Nissan hood through air vents. When they break down, they can leave behind a residue that may corrode the exterior surface.

How do you replace the evaporator?
  1. Carefully drain the fluid.
  2. Cut the joint caps and disconnect the receiver and suction lines.
  3. Stop up the lines to make sure no debris enters them.
  4. Take the opportunity to clean the walls, joints, and other surfaces of debris or corrosion.
  5. Remove the vehicles blower.
  6. Take out the screws bolts, pipes, and valves.
  7. Disconnect the temperature sensor.
  8. Pull out the vehicles old part.
  9. Put in the new part and follow these steps in reverse order to complete installation.
Can you buy specific parts and not an entire system?

When your Nissan Frontier is not cooling down like it should, you need to start troubleshooting. Once youve found a reason, you can go about looking for replacement parts as needed. Specific parts for your Frontier will be available, saving you the expense of buying an entire system or unnecessary components.
